Our Favorite 80s Aliens Make Great Costume Ideas

During the 80s there are two lovable aliens who instantly spring to my mind, the first was a regular to our television screens brought to us from the planet Melmac where his real name is Gordon Shumway. I’m talking, of course, about the big furry wiseguy who we called ALF (alien life form).

The second is an alien that caused my best friend to cry when we watched him on the big screen and made us all want to phone home. This lovable alien also made a star out of a very young Drew Barrymore and is of course known to us all as ET.

Either of these aliens would make a cool unisex costume. If you’re a single guy you should know that millions of girls around the world thought this guys really were ‘out of this world’ cute!

ALF Costume

This ALF costume looks so cute I wouldn’t want to unleash it without first making sure that any cats are hidden away!

Alf Costume (Standard)

I absolutely loved ALF and watched it religiously every Thursday night with the rest of the family, it was the night when we all watched tv and ate junk food for dinner – ALF, Sledgehammer (my father loved to say, ‘trust me, I know what I’m doing) and LA Law.

This bodysuit certainly looks like it would be a warm costume which would make it ideal if you have to dress up in the winter. It looks very realistic, except the height of it and just seeing the image makes me feel very nostalgic indeed.

ET Costume

Now I know a lot of people thought ET was cute, but look at his face, I’m sorry but he was pretty ugly!

Elliott & E.T. Costume

There was something utterly endearing about him though and as far as iconic characters of the 80s go he was right up there which makes him a perfect costume choice.

I can’t find an ‘actual’ E.T. costume available at the moment, but this one is a costume of Elliott with E.T. in his bike basket which is pretty cool.

The costume includes a red zip-up style hoodie, the ‘bike basket’ with handlebars (this is actually made of cardboard), a cardboard E.T. bust with pointing finger that fits inside the basket and a white blanket to cover the bust.

80s Fashions for Men

How do you encapsulate 10 years of diverse fashion into a few paragraphs to sum up what men were wearing? I can’t think of a more diverse time in men’s fashion that the 80s – the hair cuts alone varied enormously depending on your ‘clique’ as well as what year it was.

We had the mullet, the perm, the rats tail, the rocker look, the assymmetrical look, the preppy look and so much more – why we even had a white guy wearing dreads in the shape of Boy George which was absolutely unheard of until the 80s hit.

As far as clothing went you had acid wash jeans which was often worn with an acid wash denim jacket although as the decade progressed brown or grey leather jackets were worn with your jeans instead. Suits were big along with pastel colors – fathers around the world were disgusted to see their boys wearing ‘sissy pink’, it was so rebellious! Of course if you’re wearing pastel colors then that also meant combining the suit with boat shoes and (gasp) no socks!

Thin, black leather ties were added to shirts and some people even owned piano key ties which were pretty cool! Sharks tooth pendants (I don’t think they were all sharks teeth as they were mainly brought at dodgy market stalls, but….) pendants were an important accessory to wear.

I haven’t even touched on half of the fashions, but I hope it’s given you a few ideas on the diversity of men’s clothing during this tumultuous decade.

Tudor Costume Ideas

Gorgeous Historical Costumes from the Tudor Era

Tudor Costume IdeasThe Tudor period took place between 1485 when Henry VII came to the throne (the first Tudor monarch) and 1603 when Elizabeth I died (the last Tudor monarch), this means that there were changes in the fashions from the beginning of the period to the end.

This is great if you’re looking at making your own costume because you can make choices between early Tudor clothing and late Tudor clothing based on what you have available.

There are also a number of famous men and women from Tudor times who you can dress up as if you choose (or you can just be a member of the court or a Tudor peasant – the choice is yours) such as Henry VIII, Cardinal Wolsey, Walter Raleigh, Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth I, or Mary I.

In a Hurry?

==> Go Straight to a Selection of Tudor Costume Ideas

As you can see from the image above of Mary I and Princess Elizabeth entering London in 1553 (this is when Mary entered the capital to claim her throne upon the death of their brother Edward VI) society Tudors certainly used a lot of fabric in their clothing. Whenever I think of Tudor clothing I think of sumptuous materials that also had a lot of detailing on them, embroidered by gold and silver threads and even the button details on outfits could be made from metal or jewels.

Someone’s status was very tied in to how they dressed so you made sure to wear the best you possibly could …… unless you were poor that is! The Tudor peasants wore very different clothes to those in society and these were often made from scratchy wool and were certainly a lot plainer! If you’re looking at making your own costume then I would definitely look at a peasant costume as opposed to a court one!

Understanding Tudor Fashions

When it came to Tudor fashions for men it did change from the beginning of the Tudor era to the end, but one thing remained constant and that was hose and doublets.   Hose was basically the name given for the tight-fitting trousers that they wore which are very much like leggings today.   A doublet is basically like a tight fitting jacket that’s worn over their hose.

In early Tudor times the look of men’s fashion sees a square shape happening as they wore coats over their doublet and hoses with big shoulders – think of a classic Henry VIII outfit.   By the end of the Tudor era men’s fashions were much sleeker (think of Sir Walter Raleigh classic image) with much shorter slimline jackets being worn, along with Elizabethan ruffs around their necks.

If you want to make your own Tudor outfit for a man then you’ll find this link invaluable –

  • Kentwell Mid-Tudor Men’s Clothes – Kentwell Hall is a stately Tudor Mansion in Suffolk, England that holds regular Tudor Re-Creation Days, people take a lot of trouble to ensure that they do wear historically accurate clothing which is why the link is very handy for people making their own Tudor costumes.
  • What to Wear – Men – This site is written by someone who us a UK Re-Enactor who enjoys spending a lot of time at Kenwell Re-Creation days and is sharing her knowledge of Tudor clothing for you.

There really was a clear cut difference between what the aristocratic classes wore during Tudor times and what the everyday person would be wearing and it didn’t depend on what they could afford either!   Henry VIII passed laws about what clothes people could wear based on their position in society for example only the King and his immediate family could wear cloth made of purple silk or gold; Dukes and Marquises could use only cloth of gold woven into their coats and doublets.

Let’s look at some ideas for specific Tudor costume ideas for you –

Henry VIII Costume Ideas

A Very Regal Tudor Costume

When you think of men in Tudor times then Henry VIII has to be one of the first names that springs to mind doesn’t he? Henry VIII has certainly had a larger than life effect on history in several ways so it seems appropriate that if you’re thinking of a man’s Tudor themed costume that you would think of him and I’ve found a few costumes for you to choose from.

Men’s 16th Century King Henry VIII Costume

This is probably the best Henry VIII costume that I’ve seen ready to buy – it actually looks regal enough for a king and the big shoulders on the coat along with the flat cap just makes me think of Henry’s classic image.

It’s certainly a very sumptuous looking costume and embraces a lot of what I think of when I think of Tudor costumes.

Beefeaters – A Great Tudor Costume Idea

Tudor State Dress Uniform of the Yeoman Warders

If you’ve ever been to the Tower of London then you would have seen the Beefeaters or (as they’re officially known) the Yeoman of the Guard, these were formed during Tudor times by the head of the Tudor dynasty himself, Henry VII.

The Yeoman actually have two different uniforms and the red and gold one that is worn for state occasions or when the sovereign is visiting the tower is actually referred to as the Tudor State Dress because it has changed very little since Tudor times. This makes a Beefeater costume a great idea as a Tudor Costume for men.

Regency Collection Beefeater Mens Costume

This is a ready made costume that would work pretty well for a Tudor themed fancy dress costume, although it’s not an exact replica, in fact when you see the costumes side by side it’s quite obvious which is the costume!

It is definitely Tudor inspired, however and I’m not sure how you’d be able to make a more accurate tunic unless you were good at embroidery as it’s really the detailing on the front of the costume that sets it apart.

More Tudor Costume Ideas for Men

These next couple of costumes are based on two of William Shakespeare’s male characters – Hamlet and Romeo. William Shakespeare having been born into the Tudor era and actually performing for Elizabeth I several times at her court.

I think these two costumes have a lot of Tudor fashion elements to them which makes them perfect if you want a costume that’s already been made for you and is ready to wear.

Hamlet Mens Costume

The styling of this costume is very Elizabethan in look, although the shoulders still give a nod to the squarer look favored under Henry VIII. The fitted, slimline style is totally late Tudor, court fashion though.

Romeo Mens Costume

The puff shoulders and ruffle at the neck are another classic touch associated with late Tudor fashions and this is a gorgeous looking outfit that’s sure to be a hit.

tudor costume ideas for women

Fashions for the Tudor Lady

As you could expect the Tudor fashion for women changed considerably over the course of the 118 years that made up the Tudor era.   At the start of the era the women wore tight fitting bodices with very full kirtles and gowns resulting in a look of two triangles (stacked in an hourglass formation).   On their heads they wore a coif which was attached to a cornet at the back of their head.

By the end of the Tudor era women’s fashions had evolved so that their bodices were not much longer and the skirt was worn over a farthingale.   The head dress had been replaced by jewels and around the neck ladies were wearing an elaborate ruff of lace.

Now what are kirtles, farthingales and ruffs anyway?   Let’s look at some of the words we use when we discuss Tudor fashions.

  • The Ruff is probably the first thing that springs to mind when you think of Elizabethan ladies clothes and basically started life as a frilled collar before becoming more and more exaggerated, check out how it has evolved over the late Tudor era – Elizabethan Ruffs.
  • The Kirtle is basically the ‘dress’ part of a ladies outfit.   They had been around longer than the Tudor era as you can see here, but for help in making your own Tudor Kirtle you’ll want to check out this fantastic site – Making the Kirtle.
  • The Fathingale is basically a circular frame worn under a skirt to hold the skirt out.   The one that is usually associated with Tudor fashions is the Spanish Fathingale, usually stiffened with willow, this frame was made popular by Catherine of Aragon when she first arrived in England to marry Prince Arthur (Henry VIII’s older brother) and ironically Catherine Parr (Henry’s last wife who outlived him, Catherine of Aragon was his first who he divorced) is seen to be wearing one in her portraits.

If you’re interested in making your own Tudor woman’s costume then I have found a couple of interesting links for you –

  • What to Wear – Woman – this site contains some great information on what constitutes a great Tudor costume and is written by a UK Re-Enactor who has spent quite a bit of time at Kentwell on their Tudor Re-Creation days.
  • How to Create a Green Tudor Gown – follow this lady as she shows you her inspiration for a Tudor gown and how she constructed it.

You can get some patterns for making your own costumes as well and Simplicity did bring out their own Elizabethan gown pattern to mimic the dress used in the 1998 movie Shakespeare in Love. Although the pattern had been discontinued it’s still available to purchase through Amazon as you can see below –

Simplicity Sewing Pattern 8881 Elizabethan Gown

Now a number of people who want truly historically accurate costumes weren’t that happy with this pattern, but one person decided to use it as a template and then produced a page explaining how to improve the pattern by yourself and produce a wonderful Tudor gown that any re-enactor would love to wear.

How to Alter the Simplicity 8881 Pattern for a Better Period Gown.

Anne Boleyn Costumes

Although Henry VIII was married six times in total the wife most people seem to think of when they think of him is Anne Boleyn, probably because she has been held responsible in the history books for causing Henry to split with the Catholic church and appoint himself head of the Church of England. Of course things were a little more complex than that, but this page is about costumes.

It should come as no surprise that the only costumes I could find for any of Henry’s Queens were for Anne Boleyn and there were a few to choose from.

anne boelyn tudor costumeI do like the look of this costume (although it’s presently out of stock) as it seems very in keeping with portraits we have of Anne Boleyn – the square neckline of the gown and the sleeves that become wider at the end.

I would combine this gown with a French Hood as that was Anne’s favored head dress to wear.

How to Make a French Hood – this article explains how you can make your own French Hood to compliment this gorgeous gown and complete your Anne Boleyn costume.

This next two costumes actually include the head dress as well as the gown which is a lot easier if you just want to be able to buy a ready made outfit.   The first one is one that I’ve always liked and you could make even more authentic by making a replica of her famous ‘B’ pendant and adding a couple of other long gold chains around her neck as well.

Anne Boleyn Costume Anne Boleyn Costume

The second outfit doesn’t look like a Farthingate style of ‘hoop’ is being worn so the skirts don’t seem quite as full as with the other costumes, I also don’t think it looks quite as good around the sleeves so I would definitely pick one of the other two outfits I’ve selected if I were to be wearing them.

As we move on through the Tudor era towards the reign of Anne’s daughter Elizabeth lace starts to be incorporated more and more in ladies outfits.   We see Mary I wearing a little lace at her throat and by the time Elizabeth takes the throne the Elizabethan Ruff is the look that we always associate with the fashion of the court at that time.

This Queen Elizabeth I costume gives you an idea as to how different the Elizabethan Ruff was to early Tudor fashion for women –

Ever After High Costumes for Girls

Ever After High costumes for girlsAre you after some Ever After High costume ideas?   If so you’re not alone as the Ever After High dolls and complementary webisodes and books are a huge success.   If you’re new to the world of Ever After High then you could know that they’re a companion line of the extremely popular Monster High.

The Ever After High dolls are based on the teenage children of some of our favorite fairy tale characters. This dolls have become so popular that girls love the idea of dressing up as their favorite Ever After High character/doll.

From the leader of the ‘Royals’ Apple White to the Leader of the ‘Rebels’ Raven Queen there are some great costumes to be found so let’s have a look at them….

Apple White Ever After High Costume

‘Royal’ Ever After High Costume Ideas

If you want to dress up as Apple White, Snow White’s daughter, then here is one of her iconic outfits along with a wig –

Rubies Ever After High Child Apple White Costume, Child Medium Rubies Ever After High Child Apple White Wig with Headpiece

When it comes to looking the part of Apple White it pays to remember that although she’s got blonde hair her skin is still as pale as her mother’s – Snow White so you need to get some white foundation and mix that with a light foundation in order to make your skin pale and clear like Apple’s. Apple also has rosy cheeks like her mother and her eyes are stunning. There are a number of different make up tutorials on YouTube which really help you to get ‘the look’. I’ve included one below which is based on her Thronecoming look, but just leave off the glitter for the outfit above and you’ll look just like Apple White herself!

Raven Queen Ever After High Costume

‘Rebel’ Ever After High Costume Ideas

Raven Queen is the daughter of the Evil Queen and the Good King, according to ‘her story’ she is supposed to take her mother’s role as the Evil Queen.  Raven, however is more like her father in personality which is why she is the founder of the Rebels.  The Rebles are students at Ever After High who are rejecting ‘their story’ and want to follow their hearts and dreams and make their own way in life.

Raven does have one thing in common with her mother, however, and that’s her love of purple especially when it comes to her fashion as you can see with the Raven Queen costume and wig I’ve found for you –

Rubies Ever After High Child Raven Queen Costume, Child Medium Rubies Ever After High Child Raven Queen Wig with Headpiece

I’ve included a make up tutorial from YouTube below which is pretty good, it is based on the Thronecoming (like the Apple White tutorial above).  Again, I would skip the glitter for the outfit above, although some girls might want to add the glitter regardless as you can never have too much glitter in your life!

The Big List of Group Costume Ideas

Fun, Cool & Just Plain Great Group Costume Ideas!

Pac Man Group Costume IdeaIf you want to dress up as a group for Halloween this year (or any other fancy dress event for that matter) then I’ve got some great ideas for you. There’s something really fun with having a group of you dressed as a group and it can make for a great night out for everyone.

Inspiration for group costumes come from just about anywhere – musical groups, television shows, films even everyday life. The hardest thing is to get everyone to agree on the costume idea which is where I come in. I’ve compiled a list of group costume ideas that you can all look through and see if one of them stands out to you all as the perfect one.

Group Costume Ideas Based on Music Groups

There are some music groups/bands who are instantly recognizable and so make a great idea for a group costume, here are some of the ones that spring to mind-

  • Abba – The 70s pop group were known for their costumes and if you feel like turning into ‘Dancing Queens’ for the night then this is a cool costume idea for a group of 4 (it should be 2 couples, but I’ve seen a few male Agnetha and Frida’s in my time and they’ve been quite funny!).
  • Kiss – Crack out the face paint and the platform boots for this group costume idea, another great costume idea for a group of four.
  • The Beatles – The fab four are another cool group costume idea and if there’s 8 of you you could try a ‘Beatles through the ages’ theme with their basin hair cuts and suits through to the longer haired Sergeant Pepper days.
  • The Spice Girls – For five girls you know that you want to dress up as the Spice Girls, it’s what you ‘really, really want’!   This is another fun group costume that is instantly recognizable.
  • The Village People – This six piece group are one of the groups that several generations recognize straight way and are likely to start people singing earwig disco songs such as Macho Man and YMCA!
  • Z Z Top – This Texan three piece group make another cool costume idea for a small group and you can see how to get the look below.

ZZ Top Costume Ideas

Perfect for a Small Group of 3

This Texan trio are best known for the beards that two of their members sport – the third member has Beard as a surname so doesn’t actually need to have one!

You actually have a lot of latitude with what you can wear to accompany these beards as ZZ Top have been around for quite a while and have been seen in a few different outfits over that time.

The most well known look was probably the one that coincided with their album Eliminator hitting the mainstream charts for that look you want the two bearded members of the band to be wearing black suits with the non-bearded Mr Beard wearing black trousers with a long black duster coat.   All three of them should be sporting hats similar in shape to the one featured in the image below along with some black sunglasses.

Of course another look that their fans are very familiar with sees them in jeans and leather jackets along with either hats (again like the one pictured) or skull caps and their sunglasses.

Personally I think as long as you all wear sunglasses and two of you sport these beards (and to really ‘sell’ it a couple of guitars – Frank Beard is the drummer so don’t have him with a guitar!) it won’t matter what else you wear everyone will know you’re ZZ Top.

Group Costume Ideas Based on Television Shows

Some of our favorite television shows have given us some great ideas for group costumes including these –

You’ll note that some of these contain links which will take you to another webpage that is dedicated to those particular costumes.   I don’t have them all covered yet, but I’m hoping to be able to get links for all of these group costume ideas in time.

teletubbies group costume idea

You used to be able to purchase these Teletubbie costumes in a set of four which was really cool, but I’m having trouble sourcing a set at the moment so you have to purchase your favorite teletubbies seperately.

Tinky Winky Costume Teletubbies Po Costume Teletubbies Laa-Laa Costume Teletubbies Dipsy Costume

The lovable green Teletubbie is Dipsy whereas the red Teletubbie is called Po. The yellow Teletubbie is called Laa Laa and rather surprisingly, considering that a lot of people just don’t suit the color yellow, this is the costume that I’ve seen more people wearing than any other Teletubbie outfit. Purple is my favorite color which means that out of all of these cuddly Teletubbies Tinky Winky here is the one I prefer!

Group Costume Ideas Based on Movies

Movies are another source of inspiration when it comes to thinking of group costume ideas, from classic movies to more modern ones that are certainly a lot of them to think about.   Here are a few that spring to mind

Spartan Warrior Costumes

Awesome Idea for a Group Costume!

Dressed up as Spartan Warriors you can all say you’re extras from the movie 300!   The movie was based on 300 Spartans who stood up against an army of 100,000+.

More Group Costume Ideas

There are lots more ideas for group costumes that don’t belong in any of the categories above –

  • Alice in Wonderland Characters – Someone obviously has to be Alice and then it’s simply a case of choosing the best known characters until everyone in your group has a costume.   The bigger the group the more less known the characters that will add to the ‘ensemble’.
  • Angry Birds – You can get all of the different Angry Birds characters in costume so it’s just a case of everyone choosing their favorites.
  • Batman, Robin & all the Villains – Make sure that you have Batman and Robin covered and maybe even Alfred and then simply add the villains until everyone in your group is covered – there’s certainly plenty of villains to choose from including the Penguin, the Joker, Poison Ivy etc.   Don’t forget the Suicide Squad!   Another great group costume idea.
  • Crayons – You can get some great Crayola costumes (although these are designed for ladies) in various colors so if you all chose a different color you can say you’re a box of crayons, but you lost your box!
  • Ever After High School Pupils
  • Green Army Men Figures
  • Guess Who ‘People’ – This is a costume that I’ve seen images of and is definitely in the diy Halloween costume column.   If you need instructions check out Homemade Guess Who Characters.
  • Hip Hop Dance Crew – Whether you go with a Jabbawockeez Halloween costume, Remix Monkeys or a dance crew from any of the popular dance themed movies.
  • Lego Minifigures
  • M & Ms – You can actually buy sets of group M&M costumes or you could just buy/make the costumes yourselfs, just make sure you’re all different colors, the room won’t be big enough for two Reds for example!
  • Mickey, Minnie & Friends
  • Monster High Pupils – If you’re after this costume ideas for a group of young girls you can check out – MHS Costumes for Girls.
  • Oompa Loompas – From Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory the Oompa Loompas make a fun costume and I’ve even seen a group of people dressed up as them at an international rugby match in recent years – they certainly stand out on camera!
  • Pac Man – You can buy a set of group costumes (see below for one example) for this idea yourself – they’re available for sets of 5 or 6 and feature Pac Man himself along with the ghosts.
  • Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs
  • Tetris Blocks – This is a very cool costume ideas that is easy to make at home as it simply requires lots of cardboard boxes, paint and black electrical tape.   There are lots of pages that show you how to make them online, here’s one of them – The Diary of Tetris.
  • The Smurfs
  • The Tudors – You can dress as a group of Tudor peasants or a group of Tudor aristocrats for a fun costume idea.   If you wanted to you could also dress as famous Tudor people whether it’s Henry VIII and all six of his wives or all of the Tudor monarchs together is up to you!
  • The Wiggles – a pair of black trousers and different colored skivvies are all you need to be The Wiggles and if there’s more than four of you in the group then you can get one of you to dress up as Captain Feathersword, another as Dorothy the Dinosaur and just keep working through these favorite children’s characters until your group are all in fancy dress……..watch out though if you’re too good you might get booked for a child’s birthday party!
  • Winnie the Pooh & Friends

Pac Man Group Costume Set

Pac Man Group Costume Idea
This is a classic group costume idea for six people. Featuring Pac Man himself along with the four ghosts and one ghost that’s ready to be eaten!

The great thing about this costume idea is that all of the costumes are unisex so it really doesn’t matter what the make up of your group is – all male, all female or a mixed bunch.

I do love the idea of this costume as I’m an eighties girl at heart and Pacman has certainly become known as THE video game of the decade (in all honesty I preferred Space Invaders, but Pacman obviously had a better PR person behind them!!)

Sucker Punch Halloween Costumes

Sweet Pea Sucker Punch Costume

Sweet Pea Costume – Buy Here!

When I saw the movie Sucker Punch I remember thinking what cool costumes some of the characters wore in the main character’s fantasy world.

It didn’t surprise me in the least when I saw Baby Face, Sweet Pea, Amber, Rocket and Blondie’s costumes available to purchase. I felt that they had an anime look to them – not sure if fans of anime would agree with me though!

The actual movie itself isn’t one I’d watch again as it just didn’t grab me, but the costumes….. well that’s a whole different story.

Let’s have a look at some of the main characters and their costumes.

Baby Doll Costume

Sucker Punch’s Lead Character in Costume

The costumes that stand out for me with all of the characters are their fantasy fighting outfits and for Baby Doll that’s a navy blue costume with a Lolita style sailor boy top and short skirt with over the knee black stockings.

Baby Doll’s costume also needs a weapon to complete it and her weapon of choice is a sword which she’s very adept at using.

Womens Sucker Punch Babydoll Costume

This officially licensed costume includes the top with it’s attached belt, skirt, headpiece and thigh high stockings. What’s not included is the wig or the weapon.

The blonde wig is a great way of getting Baby Dolls hair if you don’t have long blonde hair yourself. If you do then all you need to do is to put it into two pony tails and add the headpiece – perfect!

Baby Doll is the lead character in the movie and it’s her fantasy world that the girls all become fighters in, well actually they first become sex slaves in a brothel, but for the sake of these costumes we’re going to the second fantasy of them as strong fighters.

She befriends four other girls – Sweet Pea and her sister Rocket, Amber and Blondie.

Amber’s Costume

Sucker Punch’s Nod to the Army!

Amber obviously loves a soldier in uniform as she has taken on the Army’s green uniform and added a very sexy touch to them. Add black combat boots, black hot pants and fishnet stockings and a nod to the 1940s with a mini 1940s army hat perched on one side of her head and you have a show stopping costume to wear.

The costume includes the jacket with attached top, shorts, chaps, choker and headpiece. What isn’t included is the the weapon (Amber’s weapon of choice is a dagger), wig and boots.

Amber manages to steal one of the essential items needed for their escape plan to work, unfortunately she is shot before their plan can be put into action.

Blondie’s Costume

The first thing you have to know about Blondie is that she isn’t blonde! I’m not sure where the name came from, but Sucker Punch’s Blondie is definitely a brunette!

Unfortunately Blondie can’t keep a secret very well and ends up spilling their escape plan and getting shot in the process. In the fantasy world, however, Blondie had a very ‘kick ass’ costume and wielding an axe in style!

Womens Sucker Punch Blondie Costume

This officially licensed Sucker Punch costume includes Blondie’s bodysuit, hardcore glovettes, belt and thigh high stockings.

Not included is the wig, boots or her weapon of choice.

Where I see a real Lolita touch in Baby Doll’s costume, with Blondie’s outfit the look is a lot more ‘don’t mess with me’ and I must say I think it’s even cooler because of that!

Rocket’s Costume

Sweet Pea’s Sister’s Fighting Costume

Rocket is the spunky sister of Sweet Pea, a bit of a rebellious girl who ran away from home before ending up in the asylum. It is because of her that Sweet Pea is there too because she came looking for her.

Rocket loves her sister and appreciates that she’d do anything for her which I believe is why she sacrificed herself for Sweet Pea so that she could escape and live a life on the outside.

Womens Sucker Punch Rocket Costume

I’m not really sure what I think of Rocket’s fighting costume, it was one of the ones that didn’t really stay with me after the movie, although as I look at this officially licensed one it certainly has something about it – almost like a rebellious punk version of a classic flight attendant’s dress!

The costume includes the dress with attached garters, headpiece, glovettes and belt.

To complete the look you’d need a wig (unless you have short hair that you can style like Rockets), black fishnet stockings and thigh high black boots.

If you want to to be a daring fighter like Rocket you’ll also need to get a knife to wield!

Sweet Pea Costume

Another Sucker Punch Costume

Sweet Pea is a little dubious about the escape plan at first, probably because she’s the more cautious and responsible of the group. As far as fighting costumes go I think her’s is the best and the way she uses her Katana – well I wouldn’t stand in her way!

Sweet Pea certainly seems to have a meatier role that the other three of Baby Dolls friends and she manages to acquire two of the items needed for the escape plan and SPOILER ALERT ends up being the only one to actually escape the asylum.

Sucker Punch Sweet Pea Adult Costume

This costume includes a hooded jacket (personally I think it’s the hooded jacket which gives the outfit the something extra that makes it my favorite), brief shorts, glovettes and thigh high stockings.

Not included are Sweet Pea’s weapon and wig.

A Great Group Costume Idea

Although all of these costumes are great by themselves, they are also a really cool group costume idea, if there are more than five of you then you can add other characters from the movie such as Blue and Dr Gorski.
