Halloween Pumpkins

Halloween PumpkinsWhat ever you did with your Pumpkins this Halloween I’m sure they looked fantastic, I’ve gathered a few images of pumpkins that I’ve come across this Halloween to help give you some inspiration for future years.

I especially think the ‘smoking’ pumpkin looks cool.

Whether you like to carve your pumpkins, decorate them with facial features push ins or stickers or whether you just purchase plastic pumpkins you know when you start to see these guys around it’s Halloween time!

Halloween Pumpkins

I hope you love this selection of Halloween pumpkin images I’ve found for you, but what if you want to create some of the ideas?

Well you don’t have to carve your Halloween pumpkins freestyle as you can get stencils which makes things a lot easier.  These stencils can also be used to paint your pumpkins which can be fun to do with the kids as well.

You can also use stickers to decorate your pumpkins and this can be a fun way of letting younger children decorate their own pumpkins.

Talking of letting the children decorate their own pumpkins I have also seen some fun push in decorations for pumpkins, although not pictured above this look like a LOT of fun!

Wait!  What about that smoking pumpkin?  Well if you carve a pumpkin and then get some dry ice and pop it inside it will create the smoking effect pictured.  Dry ice is a great way to make an impact on Halloween whether it’s with the pumpkins or as part of a made scientist display!

Ready to Wear Halloween Costumes for Your Dog

Halloween Costumes for Dogs

Minion Pet Costume – So Cute!

There are some really cool Halloween costume ideas for your dog, someone has even compiled a fun page called All Hallow’s Doggos which is packed full of cool, ready to wear costume ideas for your dog.

I think it’s so fun when you go to a Halloween parade and see dog owners with their dogs all dressed up and I know my boy loves having everyone showing him lots of attention while he ‘strut’s his stuff’!

So what will you dress your dog up in this year?  There are lots of great costume ideas available from Star Wars costumes to the very popular dog spider and many more….

Dog Costumes

Dog Costumes from Halloween Costumes.com

I think my pick for my dog this year is the Chewbacca costume, what do you think of it?

Isn’t this Star Wars Chewbacca Hoodie Pet Costume cool? I think it even looks like it’ll keep my ‘little man’ warm if he’s wearing it as well! CLICK THE IMAGE TO PURCHASE 🙂

Of course my husband may have other ideas – he keeps pointing out the spider costume, but I think the legs hanging out would probably spook our dog! It is a very cool costume though I must admit.

If you haven’t dressed your dog up for Halloween then why not do so this year, they love being part of the family fun so will probably love it. Having said that my late ‘girl’ would let me dress her up and then promptly try to dismantle anything with her paw or rolling around so I guess it’s not always easy 🙂 There are tips for helping you to put on a pet costume available here – step by step guide to dress your dog in a Halloween costume.

Personally I would leave the head piece to last as that’s the part most of my dogs tend to be less receptive to.  The biggest thing is to start dressing them up when they’re young and food treats help too!

Let me know what costume you’d like to dress your dog up in (and what type of dog you have too so I can really visualize it).

Coca Cola Costumes – The Real Deal!

Fun selection of Coca Cola costumesThere are lots of cool Coca Cola costumes to choose from so whether you enjoy the refreshing taste of coke or not you’ll find a range of cool Halloween costume ideas for you to choose from here.

It’s hard to know where to start as this drink is a pop culture icon in it’s own right so as a costume you know it’s going to be a winner!   The first coke costume I saw was the coca cola can costume, then I saw a tank dress costume.   The following year I came across the coca cola bottle costume and this year I’ve ‘discovered’ another new (to me) coke costume – the coca cola vending machine costume.

Let’s have a look at some of the great coca cola costumes available….

Coca-Cola Vending Machine Costume

Coca-Cola Vending Machine CostumeCoca-Cola Vending Machine Costume

I love this vending machine costume and it’s my daughters favorite coca-cola costume ….. or at least it was yesterday! I must admit I don’t like wearing slinky costumes a lot of the time so this seems ideal to me. It is usually shown with a male model in it, but I think it’s definitely more of a unisex costume idea don’t you?

NO LONGER AVAILABLE! I’m heartbroken that the coke vending machine costume is no longer available to purchase commercially – I’ve looked everywhere I can think of even ebay and I can’t find it anymore.  I still think it’s a great idea for a costume however so why not make it yourself?

A large cardboard box could be the ‘vending machine’ you’ll just have to provide some artwork yourself (or print images of the label off to use as the buttons).  You could either have your head out the top of the box or add eyes on the front of the vending machine – personally I would have my head poking out the top like I have done for a rubik’s cube costume.

Coca Cola Can Costumes

Coca Cola Can Costume Diet Coca Cola Can Costume

Now I personally don’t drink diet coke, I like the real thing, but just in case you do I’ve got both coca cola can costumes available for you. If I do go for this costume you can be sure I’ll be in the good old red and white!

Now I don’t know about you, but I actually think that coke tastes better out of a can, it seems to have a more consistent flavor which is why this costume was always my favorite….until I saw the vending machine one and now I’m torn.

Coca Cola Bottle Costume

 Coca Cola Bottle Costume

Another classic coke costume, this one really embraces the ‘coke side of life’.

Coca Cola Cup Costume

Rasta Imposta Diet Coke Cup, Gray, One Size

To round up the classic coca cola costumes I just had to include the coca cola cup costume, although I could only find the diet coke cup costume this year so I guess some of the cola costumes must be on a diet!

Which of these classic coke costumes do you prefer?

Other Ways to Celebrate ‘The Real Thing’ in Costume

Now that I’ve included the classic ready to wear coca cola costumes let’s look at some other ways you can celebrate your love of coke on Halloween or for some other fancy dress event. One of the reasons that coca cola is considered a pop icon in it’s own right is because of how long it’s had a prominent role in our society. Since the late 1800s we’ve been enjoying this sweet, fizzy beverage.

You can see a range of coca cola posters and tin signs showing advertising from the Victorian era (as pictured) to now.

Victorian Coca cola costume idea

Now wearing a red Victorian outfit like the model has donned above probably doesn’t say coca-cola costume to you, but what about making your own costume using a late Victorian or Edwardian dress pattern and emulating them on some of the ‘historical themed’ coca-cola Barbies that you can get. Make sure you have a coke bottle with a straw as an accessory and you’re good to go.

Coca Cola Barbie historical costume ideas

If that doesn’t appeal to you then what about a more retro coca cola costume idea?   Soda jerks and soda girls are usually thought of in fifties fashions which is why you can find these cool ready to wear coca cola costumes –

Soda Jerk Coca Cola Costume Soda Girl Coca Cola Costume

Of course there’s always another outside the box coca-cola costume idea which I absolutely love….

Coca Cola Polar Bear Costume

Wouldn’t this be an awesome costume idea? Now there’s no official coca cola polar bear costume that I can find, but I think you simply need to get yourself a polar bear costume and customize it yourself –

 Polar Bear Costume

Now pop over to Amazon (or try one of your local stores) and get some coca cola stickers, there’s a coca-cola decal sticker sheet which looks ideal. I have a few coca-cola polar bears (the soft toy variety not the real thing!) and most of them have the coke sign on a paw.   A couple have the sign on their ear, it is also  featured on the chest. So pop on your polar bear costume and stick some coke stickers on you, carry a can or bottle of coke and you have a unique coca cola costume!

Which coca cola costume would you wear?

Celebrity Zombie Costumes for Women

Cool Zombie Costume Ideas

celebrity zombie costumesCan’t decide whether to dress up as your favorite celebrity or a zombie?  Then why not combine the two for an absolutely awesome costume idea.  Over the last couple of years there have been a few ready to wear celebrity zombie costumes available to purchase, but there doesn’t appear to be as many this year.

This isn’t a problem, however, as you can turn any celebrity costume into a fun zombie version for a zombie walk, Halloween or some other costume event.  It really is a fun process to essentially ‘trash’ a regular costume so that you end up with a unique ‘zombified’ version.

Check out a couple of the celeb costumes that are still available for ideas or go straight to make your own zombie celebrity costume!

Iconic Zombie Marilyn Monroe Costume

Maybe This Screen Goddess Isn’t Actually Dead, but Undead

Now the world thinks that Marilyn died in 1962, but what if out of all the conspiracy theories that abound the one no one has even put into words is that she’s not actually in her solid bronze casket in a crypt in LA, but is actually a member of the undead. Marilyn Monroe screen goddess to zombie? It may seem a little unthinkable until you take a look at this costume.

Her iconic 7 year itch white dress has become more of a grey color because she’s been in it a long time and there’s a few blood stains, but she is a zombie so what do you expect?

Add some blood splattered shoes and give her more of a grey complexion and you have the perfect undead Marilyn outfit.

Make Your Own Zombie Celebrity Costume

Of course you can add a few touches to any costume to make it look like a zombie version so dig out last year’s celebrity costume or buy a new costume and let’s ‘trash it zombie style’! The key to a good zombie costume is to make sure it looks tatty, after all zombies lurch around and get caught on all manner of things because they have really bad co-ordination.

How to zombify a celebrity costumeYou can tear, rip or use scissors to give the outfit a more dishevelled look. Next it should look old, whites are supposed to be greys and bright colors need to be dulled. It’s hard to achieve this, but I think one of the easiest ways is to think about how kids like to play because they really know how to get clothes dirty and stained. This means you need to put on the costume and roll around on the ground to get grass and dirt stains on it.

Next we need to look at blood stains – you can use a brush to flick fake blood onto your outfit or use fake blood in a spray bottle to spray on parts of it. In areas where you have a strategic rip/gash in the outfit you might want to add more blood around it, especially if you want to add a wound there.

When it comes to hair, you also want to make this unkempt and try add bits of white or grey to it as well.

Have fun dressing up as your favorite celebrity from the zombie apocalypse, for more inspiration check out some of my other zombie articles on this site.
