Coca Cola Costumes – The Real Deal!

Fun selection of Coca Cola costumesThere are lots of cool Coca Cola costumes to choose from so whether you enjoy the refreshing taste of coke or not you’ll find a range of cool Halloween costume ideas for you to choose from here.

It’s hard to know where to start as this drink is a pop culture icon in it’s own right so as a costume you know it’s going to be a winner!   The first coke costume I saw was the coca cola can costume, then I saw a tank dress costume.   The following year I came across the coca cola bottle costume and this year I’ve ‘discovered’ another new (to me) coke costume – the coca cola vending machine costume.

Let’s have a look at some of the great coca cola costumes available….

Coca-Cola Vending Machine Costume

Coca-Cola Vending Machine CostumeREADY MADE COSTUME NO LONGER AVAILABLE!

&

I love this vending machine costume and it’s my daughters favorite coca-cola costume ….. or at least it was yesterday! I must admit I don’t like wearing slinky costumes a lot of the time so this seems ideal to me. It is usually shown with a male model in it, but I think it’s definitely more of a unisex costume idea don’t you?

NO LONGER AVAILABLE! I’m heartbroken that the coke vending machine costume is no longer available to purchase commercially – I’ve looked everywhere I can think of even ebay and I can’t find it anymore.  I still think it’s a great idea for a costume however so why not make it yourself?

A large cardboard box could be the ‘vending machine’ you’ll just have to provide some artwork yourself (or print images of the label off to use as the buttons).  You could either have your head out the top of the box or add eyes on the front of the vending machine – personally I would have my head poking out the top like I have done for a rubik’s cube costume.

Coca Cola Can Costumes

Coca Cola Can Costume Diet Coca Cola Can Costume

Now I personally don’t drink diet coke, I like the real thing, but just in case you do I’ve got both coca cola can costumes available for you. If I do go for this costume you can be sure I’ll be in the good old red and white!

Now I don’t know about you, but I actually think that coke tastes better out of a can, it seems to have a more consistent flavor which is why this costume was always my favorite….until I saw the vending machine one and now I’m torn.

Coca Cola Bottle Costume

 Coca Cola Bottle Costume

Another classic coke costume, this one really embraces the ‘coke side of life’.

Coca Cola Cup Costume

Rasta Imposta Diet Coke Cup, Gray, One Size

To round up the classic coca cola costumes I just had to include the coca cola cup costume, although I could only find the diet coke cup costume this year so I guess some of the cola costumes must be on a diet!

Which of these classic coke costumes do you prefer?

Other Ways to Celebrate ‘The Real Thing’ in Costume

Now that I’ve included the classic ready to wear coca cola costumes let’s look at some other ways you can celebrate your love of coke on Halloween or for some other fancy dress event. One of the reasons that coca cola is considered a pop icon in it’s own right is because of how long it’s had a prominent role in our society. Since the late 1800s we’ve been enjoying this sweet, fizzy beverage.

You can see a range of coca cola posters and tin signs showing advertising from the Victorian era (as pictured) to now.

Victorian Coca cola costume idea

Now wearing a red Victorian outfit like the model has donned above probably doesn’t say coca-cola costume to you, but what about making your own costume using a late Victorian or Edwardian dress pattern and emulating them on some of the ‘historical themed’ coca-cola Barbies that you can get. Make sure you have a coke bottle with a straw as an accessory and you’re good to go.

Coca Cola Barbie historical costume ideas

If that doesn’t appeal to you then what about a more retro coca cola costume idea?   Soda jerks and soda girls are usually thought of in fifties fashions which is why you can find these cool ready to wear coca cola costumes –

Soda Jerk Coca Cola Costume Soda Girl Coca Cola Costume

Of course there’s always another outside the box coca-cola costume idea which I absolutely love….

Coca Cola Polar Bear Costume

Wouldn’t this be an awesome costume idea? Now there’s no official coca cola polar bear costume that I can find, but I think you simply need to get yourself a polar bear costume and customize it yourself –

 Polar Bear Costume

Now pop over to Amazon (or try one of your local stores) and get some coca cola stickers, there’s a coca-cola decal sticker sheet which looks ideal. I have a few coca-cola polar bears (the soft toy variety not the real thing!) and most of them have the coke sign on a paw.   A couple have the sign on their ear, it is also  featured on the chest. So pop on your polar bear costume and stick some coke stickers on you, carry a can or bottle of coke and you have a unique coca cola costume!

Which coca cola costume would you wear?

Jabbawockeez Halloween Costume

Jabbawockeez Halloween Costume ideas - wear the mask!My daughter loves dance, especially hip hop so when we had the chance to take her to see the Jabbawockeez in 2012 we didn’t hesitate.   When they came on to perform, not only did I enjoy their dancing, I thought what a great idea for Halloween – a Jabbawockeez Halloween Costume.

I thought it seemed like a very easy Halloween costume to put together, it would also be a great idea for a group costume as well.   Let’s look at a few simple steps to create your very own Jabbawockeez Halloween costume.

Simple Steps to Create Your Own Jabbawockeez Costume

When we saw them they were going though their orange jumpsuit ‘stage’ so this is the costume I’m going to piece together for you now –

Putting together the Jabbawockeez classic orange costume

Where to get everything –

Orange jumpsuit | Jabbawockeez Mask | White Gloves | Black Leather Bucket Hat | Orange Running Shoes

As you can see above you take an orange jumpsuit, pop on a trademark white mask, then throw on a black hat, orange kicks and some white gloves and you’re good to go!   Now to be honest they may have been wearing white shoes instead of orange as I can’t remember and in images of them I’ve seen them don both so use whatever you have.

The not so simple part of this costume is busting a few moves – a couple of go to hip hop moves would really help you pull it off, but if that’s not happening then just tell people you’re having a day off!

Other Jabbawockeez Fancy Dress Ideas for Halloween

There are a few other ideas for your very own Jabbawockeez outfit so let’s look at some of them.

First there’s the all white look which is pretty good and can be seen on a few of the videos on their facebook page.   Here’s how to put it all together –

Jabbawockeez white costume, including the black balaclava so that the infamous white mask will still stand out!

Where to get everything –

Black Balaclava | White Jabbawockeez Mask | White Bucket Hat | White Long Sleeved Button-Up Shirt | White Hip Hop Pants | White Running Shoes | White Gloves

There are lots of other ideas for a cool Jabbawockeez Halloween costume and really all you’ve got to do is wear your favorite hip hop garb and pop on a mask and gloves as well and people will know you’re trying to be America’s best dance crew!

Lots of different Jabbawockeez Halloween costume ideas

Costumes Beginning with V

Photos of lots of costume ideas beginning with V like vampire, vegetables, Victorian lady and gent and a lady at the Venetian Masquerade BallIf you’re looking for costumes beginning with V then this is the perfect place for you to be! The first costume idea that springs to mind is vampires, but there are lots more fancy dress ideas from a Voodoo Doll to Venus, the goddess of love.

I compiled this page along with a number of others as resource pages for anyone who’s been invited to an alphabet party. I used to get invited to a lot of alphabet parties when I was in my 20s and I think it’s high time they caught on again! In a nutshell you have to dress up as something beginning with a particular letter and if you’re on this webpage then the letter chosen is the letter V! I have other webpages available that cover the rest of the letters of the alphabet, but let’s look at costumes beginning with V right now.

NOTE: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases – more information below

Fancy Dress Ideas Starting with V

  • V for Vendetta
  • Vampire
  • Vampire Slayer
  • Vegas Slot Machine
  • Vegetable – Dress up as your favourite veggie from a carrot to an eggplant!
  • Velma (Scooby Doo) – You can find a cool Velma costume on our Scooby Doo Costume post.
  • Venetian Ball Inspired Costumes – The Venetian masquerade ball is associated with all-encompassing robes and masks. Venetian carnival goers also wear elaborate costumes along with masks. The masks are really the key to this costume, although there’s more than one style of mask that is used.
  • Venus
  • Venus Fly Trap
  • Vermin – Dress up in either a rat or mouse costume.
  • Versailles Courtier – Although the Palace of Versailles had been the center of French politics since Louis XIV moved there from Paris to me it always makes me think of Marie Antoinette and so I’d be dressing like a member of her court if I went as this ‘V’ costume.

Women’s 4 Piece Voodoo Doll Costume Unisex – Adult Venus Flytrap Costume Smiffys Thunderbirds Virgil Costume

More Costumes Beginning with V

  • Vestal Virgin – A Vestal Virgin is dressed in pure white robes and has a very simple hair-style, as we’re talking Ancient Rome you should look for simple toga inspired robes.
  • Vet – Very easy costume to pull together as all you need to do is pull on a white coat over your usual outfit – pet hairs make a nice touch too so you can always encourage any of your pets to lie on it before you go out!
  • Vicar
  • Victoria Beckham (either as Posh Spice or as VB designer) – You can find a costume idea on our Spice Girls costume post or dress up as her these days as wag, dress designer and mother.
  • Victoria, the Queen  – One of Britain’s more famous queens probably because she was also the Empress of the British Empire and a lot of advancements were made during her reign (which was the longest reign of a British monarch until recent years when Elizabeth II overtook her).   I usually think of her as wearing black which she did after her husband died until her own death 40 years later.
  • Victorian Lady or Gent – Fashion from the time of Queen Victoria’s reign in Great Britain from the working class ‘rags’ to the bustle skirts of the ladies and the frock coats of the gentlemen.
  • Viking Costumes
  • Virgil – Thunderbirds
  • Vodka
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Voodoo Priest/Priestess

Lots of costume ideas beginning with the letter V

If you’re after more costume ideas that begin with different letters of the alphabet then be sure to check out our A-Z of Costumes page because we offer more than just costumes beginning with V!

Costumes Beginning with W

costumes beginning with wIf you’re looking for costumes beginning with W then you’ve come to the right place.   Why have I compiled this post of costume ideas?   It’s because I love alphabet parties, but sometimes I’d like to have a resource page for when I’m invited to one.

Have you ever been to an alphabet party? When I was in my early 20s they were all the rage, somehow everytime I was invited to one it was always a P party which meant dressing up as something beginning with the letter P. You can choose any letter of the alphabet however and today I’ve chosen the letter W.

Think of Witches and Wizards and …… whoopie cushions! There’s lots of fun costume ideas that start with W when you think about it!

Fancy dress parties or costume parties are so much more fun when they’re themed, but you don’t always want to have an 80s party, a Zombie gathering or even a Star Wars themed party. Choosing a letter to base your party around is fun because seeing how people interpret it can be really interesting…..some people really know how to think outside of the box.

Costumes Beginning with W – The List

  • Waitress – You could get a waitress costume which usually consists of a black dress with a white apron.   Alternatively you could wear black trousers or skirt and a white shirt or blouse and carry an order pad.   Another idea is to dress up as one of the girls in 2 broke girls in their red and yellow uniform.
  • Warlock – As Charmed showed us Warlocks can look like regular people really easily, but I usually think of them wearing a really cool longish black coat.
  • Warrior – You could be any type of warrior from a Native American warrior to a Maori warrior or a Roman warrior to a Scottish warrior (like Braveheart).   There’s lots of options for this costume idea.
  • Wednesday Addams – You can find costume ideas for Wednesday on our Addams Family Costume Ideas post.
  • Werewolf
  • Where’s Waldo/Wally – This is an easy costume to pull off, simply wear a pair of blue jeans with a red and white striped top and finish it off with a red and white striped hat complete with a red pom pom.
  • Whoopie Cushion

Men’s Warlock Costume Coat Woopie Cushion Costume, One Size Men’s William Shakespeare Costume

&

  • Wicked Queen – The wicked queen from the Snow White story, otherwise referred to as Ravenna
  • Wicked Witch – I always think of a wicked witch as being a bit of an old hag so when I’ve dressed up as one I’ve added a big ugly mole and tried to stick a hair growing out of it (the hair didn’t stay put for long thoug!), complete with a classic black witch costume and a few spells.
  • William Shakespeare
  • William Wallace – The Scot portrayed by Mel Gibson in the movie Braveheart.
  • Willie Wonka – Who hasn’t heard of Willie Wonka and his chocolate factory, he’s been brought to life in the movies by two very talented actors; firstly Gene Wilder and then Johnny Depp.
  • Wilma Flintstone – The long suffering wife of Fred Flintstone, this is a fun costume idea.  You can find the rest of the Flintstone family here.
  • Winnie the Pooh
  • Winston Churchill
  • Witch – There are lots of witch costumes from the classic black robes and broomstick to all manner of colored dresses.   As long as you add a pointed hat it seems that you can be as glamorous or as dowdy a witch as you like!

The Flintstones Wilma Flintstone Costume Witch Doctor Adult Costume 2 Piece Storybook Witch Costume

&

  • Witch Doctor – There seems to be two different looks that fit the witch doctor, one is that of a voodoo priest; the other is an African tribal doctor.  Both costumes are a lot of fun.
  • Wizard – From a traditional Merlin style of Wizard to Harry Potter this really is a magical costume idea.
  • Wolf – There are lots of wolf costumes available to purchase or if you’re a Game of Thrones fan you can make sure you dress up as one of the Dire Wolves such as Ghost.
  • Wolverine
  • Wonder Woman – Who doesn’t love the Amazonian super hero we call Wonder Woman?
  • Woody (Toy Story)

If you’re looking for a different letter of the alphabet to dress up as then check out my A-Z of costumes page.

Abba Costume Ideas

A Group Costume Idea – Perfect for Disco Divas!

Abba were a supergroup made up of four people, two females and two males and they wore some great outfits which means that Abba Costume Ideas are easy to replicate for any fancy dress occasion. With songs like Waterloo and Dancing Queen, the group embraced disco, including the jumpsuits that were the height of fashion during the 70s.

Take a dance with me (or should that be ‘take a chance on me’?) through these fun costume ideas and let’s see you and your friends dressed up in full Abba style whether it’s for an Abba tribute night, Halloween, a 70s party or just a cool fancy dress event.

Agnetha Costume Idea

The Cat Inspired Outfit!

Here is one of the famous costumes that the Abba ‘girls’ were known for wearing – the cat dress as I always called it, Agnetha’s was a blue-toned one and looked like this one –

Agnetha's famous cat costume, just one infamous Abba costume idea

Can you hear the words to S.O.S.? It’s coming through loud and clear as I look at Agnetha’s cat t-shirt costume. A great and easily recognisable Abba costume idea

&

This outfit features a dress, sash and those boot tops.
Abba Agnetha WigAbba Agnetha Wig

Of course, if you don’t have blonde hair or can’t style it like Agnetha then you can always get this wig.

This wig will also work well with other Agnetha costumes.

&

Frida’s Cat Outfit

Anni-Frid Fancy Dress Costume

Frida also wore a similar dress, although her cat was yellow in color. This costume also comes with the dress, sash and boot tops and looks like this –

This Abba Costume Idea replicates a look that Frida donned featuring an oversized t-shirt with a stylized yello cat

Abba Frida “Cat” Costume

Abba Frida Wig

Of course, if you’re after a wig for Frida I’ve found one here for you.

This wig can be used for other Frida costumes, not just the ‘cat dress’ outfit.

Benny Costume Idea

Now you couldn’t go as just the girls from Abba without their male counterparts (unless you were actually dressing as the two girls from Muriel’s Wedding performing Abba songs, but you need the jumpsuit outfits for those!).

Here we have Benny ready to launch into Super Trooper!

Benny Costume - Abba Costume Ideas

Abba Benny Wig

Unless your haircut is still stuck in the 70s you’ll probably need a wig to complete your transformation.

Again whether you choose to wear the costume above or select a different look for Benny you’ll be able to don the wig.

Bjorn Costume Idea

For the other male member of Abba – Bjorn we also have a Super Trooper costume idea…

Bjorn Costume, Abba costume ideas

Abba Bjorn Wig

Of course, you’ll need the ‘oh so sexy’ haircut as well (and yes that was sarcasm, I can’t believe how many people used to emulate the boys’ haircuts back in the day!!)

Benny & Bjorn Abba Costume Ideas

When I think of Abba I usually think about what the girls were wearing, but the men always tried to hold their end up as well. I usually think of them wearing white or silver whether it’s the disco jumpsuits or the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ style of suits.

They did try and compliment the girls with what they wore, however, so if they were to wear the outfit pictured above then it would be when the girls were probably wearing the color red as a dress or jumpsuit.

White Disco Pants

These white and silver sequined disco pants look perfect for either a Benny or Bjorn costume, unfortunately, I can’t find a matching shirt to wear, but personally, I would be looking for a silver sequined waistcoat and use a different color shirt for Benny and Bjorn that matches the color of whatever the female members of this group will be wearing.

Of course, you could just wear any of the following outfits if you wanted as most people’s eyes will be on whatever the girls are wearing I’m afraid!

Mens 70s Disco King Outfit

Ditch the gold 1970s chain and add some platform shoes and you’ll be good to go.

Disco Jumpsuit Costume

This one comes with a black belt, but you could wear it without a belt if the girls are wearing a white jumpsuit or with a different colored belt to compliment whatever the others are wearing.

Agnetha & Frida Abba Costume Ideas

When it comes to Abba I always visualize the ‘girls’ wearing disco jumpsuits, it’s the first thing that pops into my head! I see them in a white jumpsuit doing that move where one is looking front while the other is looking to the side and then switch!

Of course, there have been a lot of other outfits over the years, but I’m going to give you a couple more jumpsuits to look at because let’s face it they’re a fun-looking costume as well as being Abba-esque!

70s Silver/Black Disco Diva Costume Women’s Super Trooper Costume Costume Culture Women’s Disco Diva Costume, Gold, Large

More on Abba Costumes

Of course, they didn’t always wear jumpsuits and what we think of as 70s disco wear. Their costumes were very innovative in looks however and their costume designer Owe Sandstrom is quick to confirm that the group all had input into what they were wearing. Both Agnetha and Frida had very strong opinions on what they wanted to wear while Benny and Bjorn were happy as long as they could match them!

They wore unitards, jeans, mini skirts, long peasant skirts and a range of other outfits. You can check out some of their outfits here and draw on some inspiration for your Abba fancy dress outfit. Personally, I like the zebra print dresses that the girls wore, but I can’t seem to find them online anywhere ….. I’m sure I’ve seen similar dresses in one of the teen shops in the mall though so you might be able to source them close to home.

Abba Costume Ideas, unleash your inner Dancing Queen with these fancy dress costumes
